Don’t apply for Google AdSense Program (a discussion with an online client)

Google Affairs
April 15, 2012shabash78612 Comments on Don’t apply for Google AdSense Program (a discussion with an online client)

It is arduous to making people’s mind for not applying Google AdSense program earlier than 6 months (according to the terms and conditions announced by Google) There is a crowed on the Internet, willing to get registered for this money making program as soon as they created a blog or website. A significant number of those people don’t try to check Google’s policies and the result is always not in their favour and as soon as they get rejected they jump to the Google search or find forums to ask why did they get rejected by Google ?

Two days back, I was invited on Elance.com (as I provide freelance web related services on  Elance), by a client to submitting a proposal for his project. The project was to register for a Google AdSense account so that he could  earn money from his blog. That seemed a usual and simple project unless I clicked the given link that threw me to his blog on blogspot.com which is Google’s own blog creating and hosting platform that requires no money for creating and hosting as many as blogs any one could create.

I noticed that the blog just created four days ago and there were only sevens posts written within these days by the client with his name. Could you imagine? I was wondering if he tried to register for Google’s program to monetize using his two days old blog. Moreover, I see that there were simple text blog without any single image, icon, header, banner etc. There were no H1 headline as well. Just simple text posts with nothing to get impress with.

Google Adsense disapproved accountsI was pretty much sure that this is useless to submit a proposal for this project as there was nothing Google may consider the site for, but I honestly submitted a proposal (an informal proposal actually) just to let him know that he shouldn’t go for this as its too early to get register for AdSense. Instead, I suggested him what he should do to become eligible for this program.

Bellow is a discussion we had on the same day and it seemed that he was convinced by my advise for not going to apply neither himself nor through any other freelancer or contractor.

Here it is My proposal,  in response of the invitation by client:

Hi, Client

This is an informal proposal just because I saw your blog and felt that there is enough capacity to improve your blog before you apply for Google AdSense. let me know the answers bellow.
1. Is the blog 6 months old?
2. Have you written more than 15 posts ( i’m not sure)
If not, i m sorry to say it’s too early to apply for Google AdSense as you will come across rejection from Google and then will never be able to apply for your own name.

Secondly, there are lots of people who will take your project assuring you that they will provide the Google account but they will apply by wrong way and suppose if you get the account, it would be a fake account and sooner or later Google will disable it.

So, don’t waste your money and time. I think it’s too early to apply as your blog is yet on beginner’s level.
1. Try to write some more original posts with original content.
2. Visit my website http://freelancefront.com to have an idea about how to format the posts with images and how to make it search engine friendly.
3. Try to make your title tag, descriptive, and use keywords so that Google may take into consideration according to SEO point of view.
4. Try to move your blog from blogspot to WordPress by registering a domain in Less than $25  per year. Google would consider it better than a free blog.

5. Contact me if you like the suggestions.

I have also my blog less than 3 months old but it has more than 3500 visitors in two and a half month just because of content. and I never applied for AdSense yet as I know its too early to me as well.

These are the honest suggestion but better luck for you. Thanks

The client’s responded for this proposal:

Client: Yeah Thanks For Nice suggestions.

Client: My blog is http://****  There are 8 Posts Yet But All are Unique and Copyscape test Passed. Actually I was wishing for AdSense account Because My traffic is coming from UK and USA. Well it was Made by 4 days ago. But getting unique reponse with the help of marketing. We Really Should Not Go for it?

Shahzad: Well this is not the case of traffic. Google doesn’t consider traffic there are millions of websites with heavy traffic but Google doesn’t consider them at all. I advice you to go to Google’s advertisement and read their terms for becoming a publisher. They strictly follow the rules what ever the site is or whatever the traffic volume is.
You know what I mean. You need to be very careful when applying for Google AdSense.
I don’t want to disappoint you but you need 100% original content with the format which Google likes to take into consideration. Make your blog Google search engine friendly so that people can find your blog. Use SEO techniques rather than just writing content. Add relevant images with the content. Don’t copy the images but try to design yourself or by any graphic designer, create header image, Add your own pic for About us page.
Again I emphasis to read Google policies for AdSense and don’t accept any proposal specially from any contractor who says or guarantee to provide one for you. I clearly expose that will be a fake account and will be disabled in a month or so. So, don’t waste your money if your are serious to become a freelancer go to my website http://freelancefront.com and read my articles to become a freelancer. It will take less than half an hour but you will have more ideas to becoming a freelancer. Good luck and Thanks

Client: Ok Thanks For Such a nice and Descriptive Guidance

Shahzad: Thanks for understanding. I have been selling insurance from 1994 to 2000 and almost a year back I created a bloghttp://shahzadbashir.blogspot.com I applied for Google AdSense and rejected, I added some more things but again rejected and since then I found that Google doesn’t care about blogs so just follow the rules and you may get what you want. Thanks again.

Client: I am Sorry, I need some suggestions (If possible for you) One of my friend Live in USA, Can I say him to apply for me on AdSense? (But address should Be mine)Secondly should I dont go to other ads Publisher services Like infolinks, chitika for blogspot et.

Shahzad: Well I am not Google’s authorized person, I simply know that by any means you will apply for AdSense (whether it’s applied from USA, UK or Pakistan), Google’s Engineers will check your blog and the result must be the same as I told you earlier.
The second option is the most appropriate option. That’s what I wanted to say. Why running after Google, Try to find out other programs like you mentioned. Go to Infolinks, Adbrite etc they will treat you better than Google.
But I am sorry to ask you that why are you in so hurry? This is something like I have written in my article (https://freelancefront.com/why-freelancers-failu… ) specially some people show enough impatience to get earned and they follow every fair and unfair methods.
My friend the result will nothing except one more number would be added in blacklist from your country. What I suggest you is, search relevant sites, analyze what they write and what response they get as comment, read more blogs, add the stuff like I mentioned in previous massage, make your content more informative with images, write at least 25 posts and wait at least 180 days then you will have better chances to get AdSense account by yourself without spending any money. Thanks

Client: Yeah Thanks For Nice suggestions ……………………………………………………………….

So, That was the discussion and I thought that now he will focus on what I suggest him. Today I noticed that he has awarded the project to some one but I’m not sure whether he awarded the job for Google’s AdSense account or for registering for some other monetizing programs like Infolinks, Adbrite etc.

The essence of the whole discussion is that one shouldn’t apply for Google AdSense account unless :

1. You have a website or Blog in order to participate in this program

2. You are at least 18 years old

3. Your website complies with Google’s policies. (visit https://support.google.com/AdSense/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=48182 ) for AdSense program.            and

4. You have 6 months old website.

What do you say ?
